Online social media training for scientists

The next Science Media Space courses will take place from 5th – 23rd May, and then 14th July – 1st August 2014. We still have places available so please register (or tell interested colleagues) now to avoid disappointment:
Science Media Space gives scientists the practical knowledge needed to use social media to communicate more effectively. This 3-week course from Bridge8 and Econnect Communication shows you how to use popular social media tools so that your communication efforts have more impact. In small private forums you will learn how to create a powerful social media profile, write a perfect blog, compose a retweetable tweet, and use images to engage your audience. You’ll also gain a lot of good tips from popular science bloggers and social media savvy scientists.
If you’re wondering what adventures in social media might mean for you, we’ve interviewed ex-Bridge8er Dr Sarah Keenihan, on impact of social media practice case study focusing on her Science for life 365 blog and February course alumnus Prof Christopher Wright on how the course helped him start his blog and extend his public reach.
The course was originally subsidised by Inspiring Australia but is now costed at a reasonable fee commensurate with other professional development courses. More background can be found in our previous project post: Social media for scientists.
