I’m a Scientist, Get me out of Here! (Australia)

I’m a Scientist, Get me out of Here! is an award-winning science enrichment and engagement activity that has been running in the UK for four years, and here in Australia for two.

It’s an Australian Idol-style competition for scientists, where students are the judges. Scientists and students talk online on this website. They both break down barriers, have fun and learn. But only the students get to vote.

We have run Australian events in June 2011, May 2012 and August 2012, reaching over 2600 students from all across Australia who have asked 2442 questions and completed 150 live chats with 45 scientists in disciplines as diverse as astronomy, medical research, marine biology and industrial chemistry.

We’re currently taking registrations from teachers and scientists for our next event which runs from 11th – 22nd March 2013 and will include a themed zone on agriculture. Teachers can enrol classes from years  5-12 here and scientists can express their interest in participating here. We look for scientists in research, industry, government and anywhere else they can be found, and across all professional levels.

We’re currently seeking sponsors for both March and August/September 2013. If you’d like to be involved please get in touch.

I’m a Scientist, Get me out of Here! (Australia) is managed by Bridge8 under license from Gallomanor Communications Ltd 2011.
