Kristin: Earlier in the year, I wrote on the importance of finding flow in a digitally connected world. More recently, in doing the Governor’s Leadership Foundation program and attending Gathering11, I’ve been thinking again on the importance of mindfulness and reconnecting with a deeper sense of purpose. And Genevieve Bell’s talk about the value of boredom at TEDxSydney is also on my mind.
This is why Sarah, James and I will be ‘out of the office’ this week. We’ve arranged our client work so that we can make this space for rest, contemplation, and hopefully boredom. We might work on a few things, but we’ll also be reconnecting with family during school holidays, reading novels and the must-get-to list of articles and going through bouts of de-cluttering physical and mental spaces. We’re looking forward to returning on the 18th July to start on new stages for XTK Projects and scicommunity, to develop and deliver courses in social media, foresight and in carbon management, and to accelerate planning for TEDxAdelaide 2011.
