Kristin: Last night I attended the launch of the Sydney Cleantech Network organised by John O’Brien of Australian Cleantech. The event was hosted by KPMG and over 120 people from the investment, business services, government and cleantech industries attended. Guest speaker was Roger Price of Innovation Capital who spoke about the processes of VC funding, referring to the recent success of their investment Windlab Systems, a spin-out from CSIRO that recently raised a further $10 million through Lend Lease Ventures.
A further 5 companies participated in 2-minute pitches, highlighting innovation in waste management, solar energy, insulation and energy storage. There was lots of discussion and enthusiasm for the next Sydney Cleantech Event event to be hosted by Clayton Utz on 19 November. A note for South Australians: The next Adelaide Cleantech Event will be held on Tuesday 6th October at the Historian Hotel.
We are working with John on a number of projects in the cleantech space around industry capability and education, as well as CleanFutures AquaSens Pty Ltd.
