Showcasing Australia’s first Nano Scale Machining Centre

KiraJenna: Earlier this month, the University of South Australia, Bridge8, Realtek, the ANBF and ANFF sponsored a ‘Nanoscale Machining in Australia’ trade night at the Ian Wark research institute.  The aim of the trade display was to showcase the newly installed Nano Scale Machining Centre from Kira Japan, the first of its kind in Australia, and to engage with industry on explaining the benefits of this technology and it’s accessibility for business community.

The guest speakers included Brian Power, CEO of Realtek Technologies and Dr Craig Priest from the Ian Wark Research Centre, who explained the centres capabilities and its potential to have a significant impact on advanced manufacturing in Australia, and a brief tour of the new facilities was also included.

With this trade display sparking a large amount of interest from others, included interstate, who could not attend the event, a re-run of the night is planned for some time in the future when it is hoped visiting experts from Japan will also take part.
