Prime Minister’s Science Prizes

Kristin: Mrs Francesca Calati was awarded the $50,000 Prime Minister’s Prize for Excellence in Science Teaching in Secondary Schools at a black tie function at Parliament House in Canberra on Wednesday 19th September.  The award recognises her outstanding chemistry teaching career and the innovative nanotechnology curriculum she developed with her team at St Helena and her achievements are summarised here.  Francesca gave a passionate thank-you speech and the audience was really excited about her approach and impact on science students.  She was nominated by Nanotechnology Victoria, Bridge8 and St Helena Secondary College.  I’m very proud to be associated with her and the team at St Helena.  Congratualtions!
